LITHGOW LAUNCHES GEORGE BERKELEY PR
Professional services heavyweight acquires Financial boutique Grenfell & Co
Professional and financial services PR veteran Adrian Lithgow has set up a new agency, George Berkeley Public Relations, and moved swiftly to acquire Financial PR firm Grenfell & Co owned by Nicholas Monson.
Lithgow moved into public relations after a 20-year career in journalism. He was chief news reporter then political editor of the Mail on Sunday, deputy editor of Sunday Business and Editor of BusinessAge before becoming Director of Communications for mortgage lender igroup and heading professional, corporate and financial PR at City agency Lehmann Communications for four years.
'Its been a cracking start to the year' said Lithgow. 'We are delighted to bring Nick Monson and Grenfell & Co on board. This gives us real muscle in our corporate and financial offering and Nick is a great guy to work with.'
George Berkeley has scored three client wins in its first two weeks of operation - a major City law firm, national mortgage brokers TMOL and the media services group Knight Banner. Grenfell & Co specialises in investor relations, crisis management, financial products PR and litigation support.
Lithgow, a committee member of the Corporate and Financial group of the CIPR, said George Berkeley, based in Berkeley Street in London's Mayfair, is committed to vigorous organic growth and has an acquisition strategy for niche PR companies.
George Berkeley chairman is David Shaw, former deputy chairman of media group Adscene and MD of corporate finance advisors Sabrelance.
